Holy Apostles' parents make a vital contribution to the life of the school. We are very grateful for the extra help we get, inside and outside the classroom - we hope that you may be able to help us too!
As a parent, there are many ways you can get involved, from sorting books in the library to lending a hand with class activities such as craft or cookery. Many parents also help with classroom displays, typing, or by accompanying pupils on school outings.
If you have any special skills or experience to offer, we would very much like to hear from you, so why not send us an email.

Support in the home
Parents often ask what they can do in the home to support their child's education. One simple way is to show interest and encourage your child to talk to you about 'what they did at school today'.
Help with early reading is especially valuable. Younger pupils take home word tins and/or books on Tuesdays and Fridays. Guidelines for listening to early reading are sent to families of children in the Reception class. Any additional homework will be agreed between the class teacher and parents.
All junior pupils are given a few simple tasks to do at home - usually learning tables or preparing for a weekly spelling test. Occasionally they will be asked to learn parts for plays or presentations at school assemblies. Pupils who learn musical instruments will also be expected to practise at home. Again, your help and encouragement are much appreciated.
